The IAF is an internationally recognized forum whose main objective is to harmonize national certification systems and to ensure consistency in technical operations by harmonizing the auditor qualification requirements, training guidelines and quality system certification bodies' accreditation and certification procedures. Effective international mutual recognition, it includes two major organizations in the world, namely the European Accreditation Organization (EAC) and the Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (PAC).
